UCCW - Ultimate Custom Clock Widget
These are my designs for UCCW. The preview pictures are embedded below as a slideshow. To download these skins, please click here, the Dropbox folder contains all of them so you can either download one, or all of them to your PC or phone and then import according. For instructions on using UCCW, please click here.
Fancy Widgets
You can get Fancy Widget and Fancy Widget Pro here. Below, you'll find thumbnails of my Fancy Widgets skins. If you own an Android phone, and want to download Fancy Widget, please note that the free version of the app limits the customization you can do, including, the use of the Flip Clock design. As such, some of the designs below, may look differently on your phone. For more information, please go to the developer's page, here.
For those of you who have downloaded my skins, I'd like to thank you, it's nice to have your work appreciated. I've enabled comments on this page, so if you have any suggestions, comments or questions regarding my designs, please feel free to note them below. So as to better be able to help you, please provide the name of the skin you are referring to in the comments.

You must have Fancy Widget or Fancy Widget Pro installed on your Android device, in order to be able to install these skins. The skins are available in the Fancy Widget Market. To get to the Fancy Widget Market, Open the Fancy Widget App, go to Appearance Settings, select Clock Skins. Here, you will see a list of the skins installed on your phone, and two tabs. The All tab, contains new skins available for you to download. The Featured tab, displays those skins the app developer considers worthy of the spot. In the All tab, browse through the selection, and look for the clocks above. Once you click on one, the app will ask you whether you want to download the skin. Hit download, then go to the Installed tab, and select the skin as the default.

Please note that the clocks above are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported License. Since the developer for Fancy Widget released his own Honeycomb Clock, we agreed that it would be weird, and confusing to have both in the market. As such, I am providing the honeycomb clock exclusively on my website for anyone with Fancy Widget to download. To download, click here.
To install this clock on your phone follow the steps below:
- Download the .zip file
- Unzip it on your PC (When you unzip the file, it will usually unzip into an additional folder so make sure you go into that folder to find the actual clock folder and move that one to your phone)
- Connect your phone via USB to your PC
- On your PC, open the G drive, or whatever letter your phone opens as
- In File Explorer, navigate to Phone Files > Android >Data > FancyWidget >Clock Skins
- If there is no Clock Skins folder, just create one and place the honeycomb skin into it.
- Copy Paste the HoneycombClock Folder to this directory.
- Safely remove your phone from your PC, open fancy widget, as you would when changing Clock skins. The Honeycomb clock should now be listed in your downloaded clocks.
- Select it and your set to go.
Wallpapers
I've also compiled a list of wallpapers that are specifically tailored for the Droid X 4.3 screen. All the wallpapers are 960x854. You can find the gallery here. Please note that I did not create these wallpapers, and hence claim no ownership of them. I've simply found them while looking for wallpapers for my Droid X.

Fancy Widget Weather skins
With the exception of the Artsy Weather and Outline Weather, all the others listed are ports from other developers. Where this is the case, it is noted in the .txt file that comes with each skin.

You can remove them by going, on your phone, to > File Manager > Phone files > Android > Data > Fancy Widget > Clock Skins > Elegant Clock.
ReplyDeleteFind the am and pm .pngs and delete. However, I believe FW is made in such a way that if a skin does not have a required element, such as am/pm, it will insert the FW defaults.

Would it be possible to make more versions of Elegant Clock with different colors? I love the style but the rust-colored clock doesn't fit well with every background. Maybe black, silver, white versions or something?

ReplyDeleteHow do I create skins? Generally, I just start playing around with colors and effects in my photo editor, and something usually clicks. A lot of times I have to step away from it all. In those instances, I save whatever I've come up with in an "unused ideas" folder. After a few days, when I return to that folder, I realize that two or three images go well together. That's actually how I came up with that Simple Blue Clock. Hope that helps. :)

BTW, you know, I'm more than happy to see your new clock skins again today. This time, I particularly like "Padded Clock" very much. Are those edges of your numbers being blurry intentionally designed by you? In my opinion, they might be prettier without those effects as numbers do go really well with your new tab. And I like that a lot :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for the critique! That was just my first attempt at a new form factor tab, I'll be using it in a few more clocks soon. As for the blurry numbers, yeah, I designed them that way. I'll probably leave the numbers as they are for now, and release a different clock with similar numbers, but without the blurry effect.

OIC for your blurry effect. Fair enough. It is a nice touch considering that your skins are of wide variety.
Last for now, I forgot to mention your 3D attempt in L6 desert, L6 night, Padded clock itself and so on on your latest addition. Honestly, L6 desert is the best of all. The reason is solely due to your cactus standing up rather than lying on the floor like L6 night's grass and so on. I have to admit that I was so excited to see you did such an effect on fairly limited resources. This surprises me because it is merely part of your background after my further investigation. lol
Wonderful job indeed. It looks more like a flat-stage effect.

ReplyDeleteSorry for the tardy response, but I've been a little busy these past few days. I generally shy away from sport team clocks, mainly because I don't think I can do them justice. If you leave specifications for what you would like, I can try to put something together, but as you can see from the example above with the Virginia Tech Clock, I never did make much headway.

You have 2 different type of arc skins and I asked if you could take arc clock and put the orange color too it but you took the arc too and added orange to that instead. So can you added the orange color to the ARC CLOCK. Also can you make the am/pm a bit bigger and maybe the numbers a bit bigger too. Thanks

Ah, sorry about that, I didn't know you wanted it to look exactly like the Arc clock, I though you just wanted an Arc. I'll try to do that one today, and upload the updated clock to the market. I'll try to make the AM/PM a little bigger, but the constraint is mostly on FW, as the size has to be 60x45, which means, the actual font can only be 24pts or less depending on how big the original font is.

The reason, well, I do not believe I can do these justice, given how much people value them. I tried doing a clock for the Virginia Tech team and never felt comfortable in its implementation, so it remained a concept.

Please follow the steps under the honeycomb clock above to install the skin on your Fancy Widget free version. Also, please note that the tabs will not be visible as that feature is only available in the FW Pro version.

ReplyDeleteI download a couple of skins and I didn't knew how to install them so later I found here how to do that, but that's not the problem.
Problem is, when I put them on my sd card (ex. SD card: /Android/data/fancywidget/clockskins/crystalled) nothing happens. When i open fancy widget, and when i go to skins there's only one skin, and it's default skin..
What should I do? I've done everything what you have written and it's not working PLEASE HELP... I really like fany widget:(:(

ReplyDeleteI assume you downloaded this as a zip file from somewhere, right?
If you did, make sure you take the Crystalled out of the redundant Crystalled named file. So, for example, after you unzip a file, let's call it Clock1.zip, your computer will create a directory for the unzipped file called Clock1 > Clock1 > skin contents.
make sure you only have one Clock1, or in your case Crystalled Folder, and not 2. Once that is done, paste the Crystalled folder in the directory as you did before, and it should appear as a skin option on your phone.
I've downloaded fancy widget from android market on my cell phone, and for the skins ..I've downloaded them from http://www.anddoes.com/ i think that's the right site..

I downloaded the weather skin ASUS and it does not change to the conditions outside. At night it still shows full sunlight no moon. It looks great and I would like to use it, but it should change to the conditions.

ReplyDeleteThe Asus weather skin was a port from the Eee Pad Transformer. Unfortunately, it did not bring any night time weather conditions. So all weather conditions are listed as if it was day time. So, for example, if it's raining outside, it will show rain, but during the day.

Hi i was wondering if someone had the same problem as I. I have latest fancy widget and I unpacked these files as said on fancy widget home site but I don't have full clock as i should. For example i have all the white grayish background but I don't have black around the clock numbers in Cylinder clock also on any other similar clock I have rectangular area behind everything (weather and clock) and numbers displayed but I don't have squares around clock numbers. I hope you understood what I mean. Thanks again for links for Scramble white and White tab clocks!!

ReplyDeleteDo you have Fancy Widget (free) or Fancy Widget Pro?
If the first, that is a limitation the dev puts on the free app. the clock has everything, except the ability to show the clock tabs, which are left for the paid version.
If you have Fancy Widget Pro, and still cannot see the tabs go to Appearance Settings > Widget Style and select - Flip Clock. This feature is not available in the free version, the free version only has one style, I believe it is either Classic or New digital clock.

As I've noted above many times, I generally tend to shy away from making team clocks because I don't feel as if I can do them justice. I took a gamble on this one, mostly because I'm also a Yankee fan. Let me know what you think.

I don't understand how to download these. I've followed all the directions but i don't have any tabs under clock skins, just the one theme that came with it. I don't have pro. There is no install tab or all tab on the free one. The clock i really love is red arc. Would go perfect for what i want. I dig that 300 one as well good stuff.

ReplyDeleteSorry it took a bit to respond, but I was out most of the week for the Memorial Day holiday.
As to your question. You need Fancy Widget Pro in order to be able to use the Flip Clock (Tabs) style. Without Pro, you will only be able to use the Digital Clock style.
Since you are using the free version, on your SD card you will need to go to Android > Data > Fancy Widget > ClockSkins (You will have to create this folder as I typed it, no spaces between Clockskins). In that Folder you have to place the clock skins you've downloaded.
Since zip files, when unzipped, create an additional folder wrapper, you will have to cut the main folder out of the other.
I.e.
Clock1.zip when unzipped creates this directory: Clock1 > Clock1 > contents
To make it work in Fancy Widget you will have to cut the Clock1 folder inside the main Clock1 folder and paste that alone in the Fancy Widgets > Clockskins directory.

ReplyDeleteI don't understand your issue. I checked the 5ONY Clock on the market, and the theme shows up correctly. The theme can be used with or without tabs. If you want it without tabs, select the digital clock widget, not the tabbed widget.

I see the silver flames clock in the fancy widgets pro market, but I am looking for orange flames. I see the orange flames clock on the xda forum post you said that you ported from, but that one is missing. here is a link to the one I am talking about. Thanks for all your hard work. ReplyDeleteOkay, my market must not have fully loaded before: I found the flames skin I am referring too. It is called "Orange Flame". I still think it would be AWESOME if you could alter that clock so that the flames be more yellowish orange, that the weather be on top of the clock, and that the space behind the numbers be transparent rather than black. (The white letters "AM" seem distracting, but I am willing to let that go if it is too much work to change them to orange.) I am trying to have the color match these icons:

Hi there. I just downloaded your angry skin for the new version of FW. Thank you so much for it and the other many I downloaded that also wound up being yours. You truly ROCK! My question is, is there a way to make the green background that shows up behind the clock disappear? I can't seem to find a way to make it opaque. I'm wondering if it's just because I have the new version? It's very possible I didn't do something right, as I'm new to the app. Anyway, if you have any suggestions, please let me know. Again, thanks so much for all the skins and I'm going to donate as soon as I can. You're a rockstar!

I was hoping you would be willing to do a custom skin for me, I'm a pretty big Stargate fan and I've been wanting a clock that uses the Ancient alphabet font from the show.
